I purchased this piece from the estate sale of a former gallerist and great collector on Newbury Street in Boston that included an endless array of wonderful things

and the hand-written two-sided cards--accounting for every month and possibility for how the dates fall--are easily removed

They are in good vintage condition

with no apparent loss of gravel at all

From what I understand the softness and lightness of badger hair makes it especially useful for blending and softening edges in paintings, and badger brushes are especially suited for painting on glass and ceramic. I'd love to see this one put to good use, but would myself just be happy
