I found this one at an estate sale in Lowell

which I have shot here with some magnification

One of the two original loop handles on the lid of the basket is missing

the brands are Milton Bradley

Earthy Japanese Handthrown Stoneware Platter with Painterly Slip Decoration vintage glass Such baskets were only producedJust a gorgeous Japanese platter, dating to the late 20th century I believe. Beautifully made and very substantial, it has a wonderful stony texture and expressionistic slip decoration in grayish white. The perfect size to use for serving, to keep on the counter holding fruit and the like, or just for display. Really lovely. There is one very very tiny chip around the lip of the platter, barely noticeable; otherwise the piece is in perfect condition.
