I found this one at Brimfield and have looked at a lot since--and while there are some more elaborate

Over the bottom third a cream glaze has been added

which measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter and 3 3/4 inches tall

It was handmade by the Maurice A

The exterior egg measures 2 3/4" tall x 1 5/16" wide

Birch Bark Antique Lidded Box with Leather Pull miniature chest I found this one atThis is a wonderful old birch bark box with a great form and patina, and wonderful scalloped edges around the bark of the exterior, which is wrapped around the box and nicely tucked in at the end. A leather pull on the top with scalloped edge matches. I believe this box would have been used to store tobacco, and I have seen very similar examples described as Native American, primarily dating to the mid to late 19th century.
