Insignia in silver gilt with blue, white, red and green enamels, mounted to an eight pointed star base, each star point with five faceted rays, maker marked "ALBERTI & C. Via No. Bixio 4 MILANO" on the reverse cartouche, measuring 72. 2 mm (w) x 74. 3 mm (h), vertical pinback, crazing evident in the white enamels on the arm of the cross at 6 o'clock, otherwise the enamels are
