the panels are rolled up and secured in place at the front with a single pebbled zink button which emanates from the right button and meets an analogous reinforced buttonhole on the left flap

the lid bearing the Prussian crown framed within an ornate border in gold-coloured ink

and include some oxidation of the blade and bronze elements with minor tarnishing of the latter

Instituted 23 September 1818 by King Wilhelm I. (1870 1918 issue). Constructed of gilded silver with multi coloured enamels, consisting of a Maltese Cross with white enameled arms, the obverse bearing a central white enameled medallion overlaid by a raised and gilded crown, situated within a red enameled ring bearing a gilt inscription of FURCHTLOS UND TREW (FEARLESS AND LOYAL), the reverse
