Portugal, Kingdom. An Order of Christ, Pendant in Diamonds and Garnets, c.1790 Hold pinned with a silvered pip(Ordem dos Cavaleiros de Cristo). Instituted in 1318. In silver gilt, the arms set with twenty one garnets, with an interior silver cross set with seventeen genuine old rose cut diamonds, suspended from a foliate spray motif with center pear shaped diamond and additional rose cut diamonds in the leaves, measures 27. 2 mm (w) x 46. 78mm (h), weighs 11. 15 grams, scratches to the stones, loss of gilt, a very rare and aged decoration, in extremely fine
