Circular medal in silver, obverse bear the left facing head portrait of Vittorio Emanuele II and VITTORIO EMANUELE II RE DITALIA (VITTORIO EMANUELE II KING OF ITALY) with the maker mark CANZANI at the bottom of the portrait neck, the reverse centre bears a crowned woman figure holding a spear and shield and is inscribed with GUERRE PER L INDIPENDENZA E LUNITA DITALIA (WARS FOR
