Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised Cross Patte, with a central medallion bearing a Hohenzollern eagle circumscribed by an inscription of VOM FELS ZUM MEER (FROM THE CLIFFS TO THE SEA), with a laurel and oak leaf wreath through the quadrants, the reverse with a central inscription of FRIEDRICH WILHELM IV, 1848 1849 circumscribed by an
