Germany, Kriegsmarine. A Narvik Shield consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac (NSDAP Kampfbinden)(Kriegsmarine Narvikschild). Constructed of gilded zink, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised propeller, anchor, and edelweiss, representing the Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, and Gebirgsjger, respectively, flanked by a date of 1940, and topped by an inscription of NARVIK with a German national eagle perched on top of a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse retaining all four attachment prongs connecting to an original oval zink plate with a
