Stalag VIII C was located in Sagan, in modern Poland, adjacent to Stalag Luft III ofGreat Escape fame. After the Invasion of Poland, it was filled with Polish Prisoners, who shortly after lost their status as POWs and were sent to Labour Camps in violation of the Geneva Convention.
