The monument was erected in 1836 and the area of Battle Bridge was subsequently re-named King's Cross

This was achieved by wearing lots of layers of petticoats and emphasising it by adding extra frills and layers to the ourtside of the skirt

The soldiers can be seen pulling two cannons on the right
