A shield shaped badge constructed of aluminum with a dull grey wash, on the obverse the central design incorporates the SA sports badge logo, depicting a vertical broadsword over a mobile swastika surrounded by a laurel wreath, circumscribed by the inscription WETTKMPFE DER SA GRUPPE WESTMARK TRIER M. 8 9. 7. 39. (COMPETITION DAYS OF THE SA GROUP WESTMARK AT TRIER FROM 8 9 JULY 1939), the reverse shows the maker mark E. H.
