Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse with a leftward facing bust of Duke William Ernst, circumscribed by name and title, reverse inscribed DEM VERDIENSTE 1914 (FOR MERIT 1914) within an oak wreath, on loop for suspension from a correct replacement ribbon, measuring 36 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition.
