Germany, Third Reich. A Customs Service Decoration consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac West Virginia from July 22(Zollgrenzschutz Ehrenzeichen). Instituted 17 February 1939. (1939 1944 issue). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Patte with ribbed and pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central circular oak leaf wreath, overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central circular oak leaf wreath, surrounding a raised inscription of FR TREUE DIENSTE
