Japan, Empire. An Order of the Sacred Crown, III Class in Case consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac and Ninghsia) after their occupation( Hkan sh). Instituted on January 4, 1888 by Emperor Meiji of Japan. A rare decoration of which few were issued, presenting a silver gilt oval medallion with clusters of three green and pink enamelled cherry blossoms forming the four points of a star, the medallion center features a silver gilt ancient Japanese Imperial Crown on a blue enamel background, with a red enamelled surround with finely enamelled stocks and a dual pearl border, centre reverse
