Description
The building of the Thames Embankment in the 1860s left it 150 yards from the river
It was bombed in 1940 and the post war replacement church was dedicated to St Paul
two angels in the sky
The monument was erected in 1836 and the area of Battle Bridge was subsequently re-named King's Cross
and was the target of a number of caricaturists of the time
