Miniature of Samuel Horsley (1733-1806) mb-code DCA_116597 22nd June 1999Oval, half face portrait of Samuel Horsley, in bishop's robes. Horsley was created Bishop of St Asaph in 1802 and the painting must have been commissioned close to that date, probably to commemorate Horsley's inauguration. Samuel Horsley was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1767. Original: watercolour on ivory. ca. 1803
