The sitter is bearded and wears a black jacket and waistcoat, white shirt and yellow tie. His left hand, resting on the arm of the chair, has a double banded gold signet ring on the little finger. The right hand holds a book, the place kept by Weldon's index finger. Walter Weldon was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1882. Original: oil on canvas,
