View of a gateway in Stepney, London Finish:none Kennington SchoolsView of a gateway in Stepney, London, 1791. Near Old Ford stood at one time a medieval gatehouse associated by tradition with 'King John's Palace'. Over time there seems to have been confusion between this gatehouse and the gateway to the mansion called Worcester House, just to the east of Stepney parish church: the latter gateway appears to be the subject of this view.
