I find chalkware, which I believe this is, a bit hard to date and to place in terms of origin this has a bit of the feel of Mexican folk art to me, but is also similar in manner to early American chalkware pieces I have found of horses and deer and cats, etc. My guess is it has some age but the spattered paint on it suggests a certain lack of fineness; I am pricing just based
