Description
The curled tin on each side makes it a very sculptural thing with great objecthood--just right for a retablo of a saint or the Madonna herself
and a little wear around the edges of the label
1930s or so I'd think
and I assume it is the path to enlightenment/progression to nirvana being symbolically represented (with the six tethered forms representing the six perfections
I've long been admiring both the forms and the glorious color on early croquet posts
Old Carved Folk Art Still Bank with Crown of Thorns Corners fat pencils The curled tin on eachWith its crown of thorns type construction, this folk art still bank seems a good one for collecting tithes or perhaps saving up to purchase something sinful! Very lovingly carved and constructed, of cigar box wood wood I believe, with especially nice incising on the slide opening, with four stars surrounding the coin slit and zig zag edges on either end. Lovely, Approx. 4 1 2" x 4 1 2" x 4 1 2". Very good condition, with a small loss to one point,
