extracted from a notebook that was already coming apart when I found it

and think the wonderful Scherenschnitte cut paper decoupage on the lid is either New England or Pennsylvania in origin

giving the whole thing a sense of mystery

Driftwood Waving Man clock face Links are about 2 inchesI found this one in downeast Maine along with the rusty chains I just listed, and it struck me as looking like a figure waving, or perhaps signaling for help! I'm not sure how he came to be, but would guess he is a fragment of what was once a larger piece, staked at some point to something! 7 5 8" t x 4 3 8" w x 1 1 2" d.
