I would guess that this elegant pair on horseback is meant to represent Sultan Baz Bahadur(r. 1555 1562) and his Hindu shepherdess Queen Rupmati, very often portrayed hunting on horseback as here (according to the tale she kept her husband from straying by joining him on hunts.) But the genders of these two, at least to
