Max Baer, American boxer Size:M: 75 x 50cm Whitehorse Bridge over the GrandMax Baer, American boxer, 1938. Baer (1909 1959) won the World Heavyweight Championship in 1934 when he knocked out defending champion Primo Carnera, but he lost the title the following year in a shock points defeat by James J Braddock. A colourful character, Baer also worked as an actor, entertainer, professional wrestler and referee. A Churchman's Cigarettes picture card.
