but it is swathed in copious tobacco-drenched black fruit and a superb line of acidity

in the Courthezon district

Jonata, Sangre Vintage:2018 ripe and earthy red pinotMatt Dees is the winemaker on a property originally invested in by Charles Banks and Stan Kroenke (in the same stable as Screaming Eagle at one stage). Blackish purple. Not very balanced. Sweetness at the start and then a hot chewy end. Liquorice. Fades a bit fast. A bit fossilised. Tastes as though it hasnt evolved for while. Is this an attempt at a Guigal La La style? Not for me at the moment.
