The execution of the before and after is far from perfect

including I believe a ruled one--but there is no mark anywhere on this that I can find

Happily, the back of the frame is papered over in newspaper, which is full of clues as to her creation, including mention of the investiture of a Rev. John Synott first thing, which, together with a few other clues, seems to date her to right around 1900 and to Hartford County, Connecticut. Such a great open face I think, even
