It was not until I was photographing it that I noticed a secret surprise: visible in the first image

just one tiny rough spot on his back

but also the sort of thing that provokes a sense of responsibility in me to be its steward

and will perch perfectly on a block as pictured here

Nice alligatoring to the paint now, and just needs a little hook on the back to make a good wall hanger for the keys to the house or dog house! 6 5 8" x 5" x 1 4 thick, not including hook and in good condition, c. 1930s.
