Rare Ophiura Brittle Starfish Small Fossil Plate turtle which is caused by theOphiura ophiura "Serpent Star" Brittle Starfish. These Ophiura brittle stars are Ordovician in age, or approximately 450 million years. The dark orange coloration is due to the oxidization of iron pyrite. May includes other small fossil species or starfish limbs. This fossil has an incredibly clear image of the shape of the fallen starfish. Situated in limestone. Mined in Kataoua Formation, Morocco, North Africa. Approx. 8. 9cm x 6. 9cm x 1. 8cm.
