The palate is very pure with really fine tannin

Chateau Marsannay, Clos Vougeot Vintage:2019 I thought that the 2014(from a . 21 ha parcel of 100+ year old vines in Quartier des Marei Haut). A beautifully layered and unusually elegant nose presents notes of red and dark currant, spice, discreet wood and soft earth. The elegance of the nose is enhanced by the relatively refined texture of the medium weight flavors that are at once succulent but punchy, all wrapped in a youthfully austere finale. This needs more depth but its certainly an elegant Clos de Vougeot.
