once can see that the trimming (these would have been cut from a large sheet) is a bit irregular

I believe the body was a post of some kind

money spent--including lots on clothing

And then these ink stains all over too

Looks to me that the subject is drying herself off after a dip in the stream, and finding her reflection there with a certain mythological feeling about it all, as if she were Narcissus, or Bathsheba. It also looks to me that this may be a photo of another photo, which was propped up against something and shot at a bit of angle, with the bottom edge of the original photo the white strip
