A little research led me to discover that John A Manson Company at 253 Broadway in Manhattan (stamped on these copper mounts) was a hardware store

The larger set of balls--about 1 inch in diameter--is complete

it may be marble but I'm not quite certain

and others here and there all over

I like that it looks like a cross, and also a bit like a shield, and that the pointed horizontal ends make it look a little like a weapon, too! I might mount it on the wall and hang a few things from its arms. 7 1 8" l x 6 7 16" t x 2 3 8" d (3 1 8" d including bolt, which can be removed.)
