In mid April 1868, the Prince and Princess of Wales had set off on a visit to Ireland and this cartoon shows them enjoying their holiday in Ireland, in the same comfort and security that they would enjoy in Scotland. To the right is a small band of friendly and admiring Irish workers and, in the background, a Balmoral type
