Here the nose is both fresher and cooler with really pretty red berry fruit aromas that are also cut with ample minerality that can also be found on the rich

A densely fruited and more deeply pitched nose combines notes of violets

than the disappointing cask sample as here the nose is spicy and sexy with exuberant and pure black fruit aromas followed by rich and fairly ripe flavors that offer both velvet and plenty of delineation on the long finish

The finish is long and crystalline

I guess you could say that this is a Lafleur that has “grown up” in recent years but it has something up its sleeve for those prepared to wait another decade

A funky nose of reduction and lactic elements is borderline leads to exceptionally rich if slightly flat flavors that lack the same verve and appeal. This may well clean up but at present, it clearly has issues.
