There are a couple of very fine cracks in the wood of the lid just on the surface

This one certainly calls the drawings of Paul Klee to mind

It would be beautiful on a tray with a selection of few other small boxes or silver-toned objects

In just the best blue on blue, and with just the right frame around it via the paper to which is is mounted. By far my favorite paper weaving I have had. 8" x 6". Very good condition, c. late 19th century.
