Iris cristata Eco Orchid Giant Shrubs and Conifers (aka: Verbena canadensis 'Rosea'Iris 'Eco Orchid Giant' is a Don Jacobs selection of widespread woodland native, Iris cristata. This extremely floriferous form was collected in Murray County, Georgia in 1988, and subsequently registered with the American Iris Society in 1993. The slowly expanding, 5" tall patch of foliage is nearly obscured with orchid blue flowers, starting for us in mid April. Good drainage and light shade are the key to success.
