2021 Weingut Velich Tiglat Chardonnay, Burgenland, Austria Amoise there is just a curiosityVelichs iconic Chardonnay, from old vines planted in 1959 in Burgenlands Seewinkel, where limestone rich soils meet a unique microclimate shaped by shallow salt lakes. Fermented spontaneously in a mix of used barrique and 500L oak, then aged nearly two years on full lees without btonnage, Tiglat is both expansive and precise. Its a wine of stature, but not flashbuilt to age, with serious grace.
